About the role
cohealth's Local Mental Health and Wellbeing Service provides free, community-based support for adults aged 26+ experiencing mental health concerns, psychological distress, and co-occurring AOD needs in Melbourne's west. Operating as a multidisciplinary "front door" to care, the service delivers recovery-oriented, trauma-informed support close to home. The GP role focuses on short-term mental health, AOD, and physical health care within an integrated team, working collaboratively to provide accessible, coordinated support and connect clients with ongoing community services.

Your duties include:
- Provide comprehensive assessment and brief mental health and AOD-related interventions
- Prescribe, review, monitor medications where appropriate, using best-practice and shared decision-making principles
- Assess and manage physical health needs that impact mental health
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, case reviews, and Client Planning Roundtables

Our ideal candidate:
- Fellowship of RACGP (or equivalent vocational registration).
- Current unrestricted registration with AHPRA.
- Accredited to prescribe Opioid Agonist Treatment (OAT) and other forms of pharmacotherapy.
Demonstrated experience or strong interest in addiction medicine
